I've never even heard of this program and I need to know why it's special. . . .

HELP!!! What's Lotus Notes?
Lotus Notes was made by a company called Novell. It was the major corporate email system in place before Microsoft's exchange server brought along better features such as collaborative calendars etc. Lotus notes was special because the same email database was spread across several servers instead of being hosted on one server.
Reply:Email program, like OutLook but much better some people say.
Reply:It's a mailer, w/special features, almost dB like, or, rather spreadsheet like, in it's presentation.
Great program, didn't think anyone was still using it, I was ... way back in 2001.
