Questions on a Lotus Elise?

I know these cars only have a 4 cylinder engine. So what is maintenance like on these cars? Do they need it often and is it really expensive?

How are they to drive? Can you drive them often (I do realize they are sporty and weekend-like fun cars, but still.)? Would it be possible to drive them every other day? How safe are they?

Any personal experience with them?

Questions on a Lotus Elise?
You could drive them everyday, but it will not be comfortable. The ride is stiff and the car is fun to drive, but it only has 2 seats and a small trunk. The insurance is high and the maintemance is high. The repair costs are high because there isn't many places that could fix them. They are average in safety because their brakes are very strong and the handling is great so it is easy to avoid accidents.
Reply:i know they use Toyota engines similar to the corolla so it should be reliable for like 2ooo,ooo miles

servicing any car is expensive. the question is can you FIND a dealership that can?
Reply:Ha, their not safe at all!!! Mileage isn't all that and although its sporty and a hot car, the maintenance is known for being expensive.
Reply:that car you do not drive everyday because it is not made for

that type of driving. like for the weekend and that car is very

expensive to keep up.
Reply:probably a real fun ride but not your typical daily driver. Awesome power to weight ratio. Maintenance expensive compared to other cars. Doesn't strike me as being a safe car. It's one of the only true sports cars on the road today. would rather own a Porsche Cayman at that price.
Reply:They are fun to drive, OK gas mpg, it has a small engine 4cyl., small body frame, so small that it's not that safe, and it's a lotus so it is expensive on maintenance.
