Is the Elise OK to live with day to day - Is the Honda as fun to drive as the Elise?
Which is better... Lotus Elise 111r or Honda S2000?
no question a lotus elise....although reliability an issue with earlier 111r's..having said that the latest toyota engine will be good, albeit very revvy, same as the hondas, have to be thrashed to get maximum out of it but least the lotus chassis can handle the abuse.
it will leave a s2000 for dead in all situations and is a proper track car..
i had a S2 elise a year ago and it is an issue getting in and out and the roof sucks etc etc, but as soon as you come to the first corner you are hooked, it corners on rails and the s2000 simply cannot compete at this level. The look of the elise inside is sparce to say the least but never once did i ever want for a cd player etc as the driving experience was so much fun, it feels so solid for such a small car.
If you want the full on experience i would go for an Exige, even an S1 as they look more hardcore than the S2.
when i purchased my S2 the dealership had a 340r which they took me in, even faster than exige..but you will not go wrong with a 111r, i would place it in my top five track cars after my 996 turbo and m3 csl of course!
leave the s2000 for the middle aged hairdressers.
Reply:NO CHANCE !! THE LOTUS WILL LET YOU DOWN AND I OWN A HONDA INTEGRA TYPE R AND HAVE SEE OFF ALL LOTUS ELISE'S SO AS THE S2000 IS BASED AROUND THE INTEGRA I WILL KILL THE LITTLE LOTUS DEAD !! THE LUTOS IS A TOY NOT A REAL EVERY DAY CAR !!. Report It
Reply:the honda is easier to live with on city streets day to day, but the elise is a better track car.
Reply:The elise way better than the honda, can I have ten points please?!
Reply:sorry kids, go honda.
Reply:I prefer the Elise if money is not an issue. But you'll see more S2000s than any type of Lotus on the road. I haven't driven either, but I think that the Elsie would be better overall, saying that that would not be your only car because then you would constantly have to watch where your parking it. Somebody would definitely try to steal an Elsie over an S2000. So don't take it into bad neighborhoods. Fuel efficiency also isn't bad on the Elise since it uses a Toyota engine.
