Why is the lotus elise cheaper in price compared to other exotic sports cars?
that answer is so wrong. all exotics have fit and finish issues because they are all made by hand. the elise has a much less expensive aluminum frame, almost no creature comforts, and has only a four cylinder engine. that's why its less expensive Report It
Reply:There's far less "high-end" stuff involved with them.
They use a common Toyota 4 banger engine.
Their performance is high because they are simplified and all unnecessary weight has been removed. Their engineering and refinement is literally the most complex and costly part about them.
Since there's not much to them, they don't cost much to manufacture or buy.
