I have a problem to send smtp mail with lotus notes.?

I have the following error message:



smpt protocol returned a permanent error:503



I'm using Lotus Notes 7.02, client, without a Domino server.

I have a problem to send smtp mail with lotus notes.?
I've had the same problem and think I solved it after a few attempts. Here are the parametres I used in the account configuration:



server name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

user id: my yahoo id (without the @yahoo.com)

password: my yahoo password

protocol: smpt

SSL: disabled



I had to disable SSL (despite what it's said in yahoo tutorials http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or... ), because I think lotus notes doesn't support the SSL protocol and ciphers used by yahoo. Can someone eventually confirm this suspect I have?



Of course you must have a yahoo mail plus account on yahoo in order to give your yahoo mail SMTP capabilities, otherwise you should check for third party programs such as Ypops'.
