Should i keep my beater car to drive to usc and have a lotus elise just for my play around time in L.A.?

everyone has been telling me that its a really stupid idea to drive a lotus to colllege and especially L.A.(i completely understand why). you still think it would be a good idea to keep a sorta beater car and have the lotus in my apartment garage or something? because i feel like they should just might as well rip out my heart if i cant have a nice car to cruise around in. I would ensure both, but i'll put the elise as my leisure car per-say. if anyone has any better ideas, please tell me without any smart-a@$ comments. thanks

Reply:The Lotus might become a target for theft while you are in class. However, if you can just show up with it occasionally to show it off and of course attract the beautiful females. Whatever you do make sure you have insurance that is going to replace the vehicle and not give you a check for depreciated value. Have the car appraised by a professional and review your insurance policy with your agent. Having a junk car might help when you feel you have to leave your vehicle unattended for long periods of time. The main thing is to think it through and don't let your ego get in the way of better judgment.
