What are the meanings of the different colors of the lotus flower?

I have tried to research the different colors that the lotus blooms. i want a lotus flower tatoo but only if it has a meaning relevant to my life. each web site has different meanings. does anyone know the meaning of the different colors?

If it's a Buddhist lotus flower... you got me there. But I think blue is supposed to mean divinity in Hinduism, like w/ blue Krishna in paintings. Most depictions seem to have golden or pink and white lotuses, so those are probably safe colors to choose.
