Like in the Odyssey with the lotus eaters, what powers do some claim it has?
What kind of power did people think eating a lotus plant gave them?
The lotus plants made people think only about eating more lotus plants. Odyesseus's men who ate them became like the residents of the villagers of the island, they became obsessed with the fruit and stayed on the island, unable to leave.( Some were dragged back to the ship, but complained and whined for lotus fruit.)
