Why can't I get into lotus position?

It seems so beginner, but even after months of practicing yoga on my own, I cannot get into lotus position. Any tips?? Thank you. :D

Why can't I get into lotus position?
The full lotus is actually an advanced position. Work on the half lotus first, and focus on improving the flexibility in your hips -- this will be key. Remember that the hips are a joint, and that "stretching the hips" means stretching the muscles of the lower back, legs, abdomen...



Be patient -- flexibility takes a lot of time. Relax, massage the muscles, and don't worry too much about what seems basic. Things that are basic are "basic" only in the sense that they are the foundation on which other things are built.
Reply:Stretch, and than stretch some more.Go through your stretch routine for 10 to 20 min. twice a day. you will get there. keep trying.
