They are both primaraly email management systems. Both have additional features allowing users to share calendars, mailboxes and more.
They both run on microsoft windows.
They are aimed at the same market - business email systems.
Microsoft Exchange has more of the market share.

nope, not even close.
I've worked with both.
too much to go in depth but I prefer exchange any day of the week, but lotus has it's good points....not many but it's not total trash depending on how you use it in your corporation
