is it as great as it looks? how does it compare with other sports cars?
Does anyone have a Lotus Elise?
I love the Elise as well, its a great car, light and powerful. I do however have a few problems with it.
Lotus is in the process of marketing the Exige and Exige S sport coupes. Depending on the part of the US your from and road conditions, you may find that the ride of the car is very go-kart ish. Meaning the ride will be jarring and you will feel every bump and every little detail of the road your driving on. They are cramped and depending on what equipment your going to put in it (a/c, power windows, etc etc) it will add weight and deminish the sportiness of the car.
For a race car, track car or if your a car nut who drives often with friends then its great. But if your looking for an everyday driver in that price range I would buy a Corvette or a year old BMW M3. Believe me I am no way putting down owning a Lotus. Just dont have it as your only car and dont be over 5' 5" tall or it will feel like a tomb !
Good luck and happy motoring !
Reply:In addition to YOUR incorrect spelling, YOU'RE also wrong about the maximum height a driver can be to fit comfortably in the Elise. I am 6'2" tall and have an extra inch of headroom. Report It
Reply:I was looking at a lotus elise.
The car is great it has a 1.8 liter engine in it (it's the same engine as Toyota Celica). Since it's extremely light it does 0 to 60 in less then 5 seconds. It's a rear wheel drive car.
I think you should get it, you get premium performance for less then $50k.
You can also modify the car and make it even faster.
I love it.
Reply:no i have no car.
Reply:My dad has one along with a Jaguar X-Type. I love it. It's red. Oh, and yes it is as great as it looks. It rides very well. It's better than Ferrari.
Reply:I am looking at one too. I know that they haul @ss and no one has them. My only concern is that after it gets older, how hard will it be to get some decent maintenance on it. Will parts have to be shipped from the UK. I guess I am assuming that you are from the States, but if you are it is something to think about.
Reply:yea i do... and my dealer recommended this sheet
