YOGA: Does practicing the lotus position (crossed legged, both legs feet above your legs)?
As a practitioner of the art of Yoga, I must say that it does indeed help in the loosing of weight for many. This is accomplished not by burning calories as is necessary in all endeavors, but instead by calming the nerves which commonly cause many of use to eat or binge-eat.

So, yes, it does help loose weight, by keeping one calm, and not looking for that next mouthful.

I hope this helps.
Reply:No..it only improves your breathing...digestion also relieves back problems.
Reply:Only in the sense that you will be steadily breathing %26amp; that does burn calories, but probably not more than calories you intake. But stress has a reputation for making people fat so maybe in the long run - yoga lotus = breathe = destress = lose weight???
Reply:i found chigung is more effective for losing weight.

Try standing with your hands over your belly - one hand on the belly other hand on the first hand.

or try moving very very slowly, and practicing being relaxed as you move.

or google chigong or qigong or qikung or chikung
