I am assuming you are referring to the older models like the Elite and Elan, and not the newer Elise. All these models are legal to drive in the US as long as they were either sold new here or gray market conversions to US DOT Standards.

Reply:Of course they are. I usually see Lotus's on the road, but not often. There is nothing that makes them illegal to drive in the US.
