Lotus Elise?

What's your opinion about this car and how much is the approx. insurance per year for 23 years old (full dr. licence)?Thanx

Lotus Elise?
Fine car but avoid the K series engine versions. They have head gasget problems. As for insurance depends where you live but as its an open top its going to be very expensive.Regards MIck UK.
Reply:The car is awesome. I have one and I still love driving it after 3 years. I still get a kick out of how it looks! No idea of the insurance cost though.
Reply:I have two friends with the Lotus Elise - one says the build quality isn't what it should be and has had trouble with the battery going flat for no reason. They both agree that it's a great drive. Nearly as good as my Caterham Super 7!. If you can get specialist insurance with limited milage with someone like Adrian Flux or Sureterm Direct the insurance shouldn't be prohibitive.
Reply:That's the car of my dreams!!!!!!!! Just love it! :)
Reply:I haven't got one but they are great cars a proper sports car to drive like a Go Kart. The best in the price bracket I reckon. But not comforable at all. INsurance I have no idea probably very expensive, Get a quotation on the internet. You could try an MR2 if its too dear as it might be cheaper and a bit more comfy and japanese so very good mechanically, or a MX5 (but personally I donlt like them)
Reply:remember lotus esprit turbo challenge...what a game
Reply:lovely car. there is a yellow one for sale in the car lot opposite where i live. its been there for at least 6 months. its had a lot of lookers, but still unsold. strange! as for insurance, try looking it up on the net, i'm thinking it may be a performance car so the insurance is gonna be beeping high!! but if you have the money, go for it. oh, also, the pedals are close together!
Reply:depends on where you live what you do for a living also how long you have had a licence etc ... why not save your money and let me pick you up some time ( wink )

bit worried about richard r (see below )though has had the car for 3 years and dont insure it ... keep away from him on the road
Reply:Richard R has one, but has no idea of the cost of his insurance ?? He has had the car for 3 years, and has no idea of the associated insurance costs. Strange!

Elise is a gay car anyway.
